You know who the dreamers are right? They’re the people who have an idea every minute. They can “dream up” a concept that’s persuasive, compelling and exciting right out thin air. Some are songwriters and singers. Some are poets and pastors. Some are CEO’s and social media experts. Dreamers are everywhere and I’m glad because we need them. They are a vital part of any church, organization or company.

However as I have found out, dreaming is only the first step. It can be the start of something great but there’s still work left to do. Some dreamers stop with simply dreaming. They leave out the next crucial step, actually doing something about it.

If you’re a dreamer like me, I challenge you to do something with your dream.  Live out what your dreaming up. Here are a few helpful tips.

– Surround yourself with people who are doers and learn from them.

– Read books by doers. (This is a must)

– Have a cup of coffee with a doer and ask them questions about how they went from dreaming-to-doing.

– Set a goal and begin work on your dream.

We need more dreamers who are doers.

What are you dreaming?

  • So true Michael! I am a dreamer and have such passion to step out in faith allowing God to make provisions. For example, leading worship and helping people grow in Christ is what God has laid before me. Writing, recording, singing, leading, counseling, teaching….. All in HIS glory! Although it seems like the next step is out of reach, God’s timing is PERFECT and we must hold true to Psalm 37:4 as well as Romans 8:28!
I will be attending WinterSpree this weekend and I’m excited to have you lead my Youth Group into worship! See Ya Soon!

    Hi Michael,

Congrats on all your success and on your upcoming album release this March!

My dream is to be a songwriter. I live in PA and have notebooks full of songs (some are completed with music; others are in progress or some just have titles and what I called “idea notes” and they are just “marinating in the notebook”).

The hardest thing is to find out where to go, who to speak to, and taking time out to get signed up with ASCAP and have my songs copyrighted (so many people said I should do this).

I’m working on this dream because I feel like it is who I was created to be. Eric Liddell in Chariots of Fire said, “When I run, I feel God’s pleasure.” Well, “When I write songs, I feel God’s pleasure.”

So if you could help point me in the right direction, that would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks and have a blessed day!

    Brian
